What's the difference between Normal and Polish routes?

The Normal Route (typically 11–20 days) is slightly easier and, offers better chances of reaching the summit. This is mainly because it is shorter and usually benefits from more stable weather conditions, especially on the Extended itinerary (18+2 days), which allows for better acclimatization.

This route also offers the unique opportunity to summit two peaks: Mt. Bonete (16,702 ft / 5,091 m) and Mt. Aconcagua (22,834 ft / 6,962 m).

In addition, the Normal Route provides options for a Fast Ascent (14+2 days) or an Extreme Ascent (12+2 days), designed for well-trained and properly acclimatized climbers seeking a more demanding challenge.

On the other hand, the 360° Polish Glacier Traverse route (17+2 days), also known as the “Two Faces” or “False Polish” route, is less traveled and more demanding. It involves longer distances, colder conditions, and greater exposure to severe weather, particularly the strong “white winds.” Reaching Base Camp (Plaza Argentina) requires more time and energy, making this route a more committing and physically demanding experience.
