Aconcagua Mountain Guides

Guiding an expedition to the Aconcagua mountain requires skilled guides, who have experience in high mountain and are capable of managing the standards of work and security.

The Aconcagua Park has a register of licensed guides, whose training in Argentina is mainly centered in two organizations: the Argentinean Association of Mountain Guides – AAGM – based in Bariloche (in the south of country) and the Argentinean Association of Professional Mountain Guides – AAGPM – based in Mendoza.

The team of Aconcagua Mountain Guides working for Acomara has an invaluable experience in expeditions and jobs in high mountain. They have been carefully selected and trained, under the standard of quality our clients deserve and need. All of them guarantee their formal training in working with groups, through their vast experience and their careers. Instructed by the Mendocinean School of Guides of High Mountain and Trekking (EPGAMT) for a period of two years, or the national exam of the Argentinean Association of Mountain Guides (AAGM).

We arrange the expeditions with one guide every three climbers, which allows the group to be completely assisted in every time and every place. If for any particular reason a member of the group needs to descend or to take a slower pace, he or she will be always accompanied by one guide.

Apart from the regular equipment, the Aconcagua mountain guides carry with them: VHF radio, a complete emergency kit with specific medicines for altitude sickness, rope, altimeter, digital oximeter and professional clothing and equipment.:

Two inseparable brothers whom we are proud of and it is a pleasure for us to have their experience supporting our expeditions. They are High Mountain guides, Andimism Instructors, professional Aconcagua mountain guides and private rescuers, who have devoted their life to mountaineering. Their name is a symbol of true professionalism in mountain and although they have climbed Cerro Torre and Fitz Roy Mt. in winter, the Aconcagua mountain is their true home. Throughout the years they have carried out a total of 24 summits through different routes, such as the dangerous South Wall and the Polish Glacier in winter, spending the night on the top. In Peru, the Nevado of Taulliraju (19,100 ft.) in Cordillera Blanca (White Mountain Range) knew their name with a new and adventurous route. Their passion led them through all the Andean Peaks, from Equatorial Volcanoes to Ushuaian Glaciers. And above all, in our city, important awards feature them as icons of Andinism.
