Do I need rescue insurance?

Yes, Rescue Insurance is a mandatory requirement from the Park to cover helicopter evacuation, among other expenses.

It has to be stated in the insurance policy: rescue coverage until 7000m / 23000ft and helicopter rescue.

Global Rescue clients just need to show their Policy Number or Card and usually don't have to pay for the Helicopter if they need it. Other insurances require the climber to pay for the Helicopter before use, which may be an issue, and later ask for a refund. And they are not automatically approved by the Park.

The Park Permit is always for 21 days, so 30 days of coverage are required, regardless of whether the expedition is shorter. Only the Park authorities can Accept/Reject the Insurance Policy, which may take 4+ working days; Acomara can't verify it. 90 days of anticipation is recommended.

All insurance companies try to make excuses and delays and apply small letters in their contracts to avoid coverage. Although Global Rescue may be the best choice, they also make the same while making excuses to avoid coverage. Acomara doesn't take responsibility for insurance coverage.
