What are the optional services?

We inform you about some of our optional services that complement your expedition; these services will allow you to increase your success to reach the summit and have a more comfortable and safer expedition.

Have your Family and Friends Accompany you to Base Camp!!

We offer you the possibility of inviting your loved ones to accompany you during the first 8 days of your expedition to Aconcagua and wish you all the good fortune from base camp before leaving to the altitude camps. The trekking has the same services as the first 8 days of your expedition, so your loved ones will enjoy the same personalized attention throughout the journey, ensuring safety and a comfortable walking pace according to the group. This activity requires no previous knowledge or experience of mountaineering, but it requires adequate physical condition and training.

Porter's Service

The Premium 20 Kg porter service is the most complete and recommended option, but we also have other options.

Porters are very well adapted to high mountain work in Aconcagua; they carry the loads in altitude camps. Most of them have reached the summit several times. Their bodies react to altitude much better and faster than many athletes do.

Our mules will carry your personal gear and the expedition equipment only up to the base camp.
It is essential to consider that the effect of altitude is powerful at altitude camps; there, you will count on a porter's help to carry your personal equipment, food, or common gear during the days in which acclimatization treks carry on.
Thereby, you will keep your energies to reach the summit. Besides, a porter allows you to have a more comfortable and safer expedition, decreasing the risk of accidents since your chances of falling increase with the weight. Porters may take your gear on the stretches of your election.

Which are the sections for porters?

There are different altitude camps where porters carry the gear the way up and down:

What sort of gear do we carry on the expeditions?

Each person will carry their gear in all stretches during our expeditions. Generally, the common equipment of the expedition, which has to be transported from the base camps towards the altitude camps, consists of tents, altitude meals, kitchen sets (stoves, fuel, pots, etc.), and the garbage generated by the expedition, and toilet waste. Porters help us carry most of this equipment during our expedition. Still, climbers will be asked to collaborate on carrying some of this equipment during the days in which acclimatization treks are carried out.

What is the gear every climber must carry during the expedition?

Everyone must carry their equipment in all sections, this weight depends on each person, but it usually is between 15 and 18kgs. Porters for personal gear are not included for any stretch of the expedition, but this service may be hired in advance as an optional service. It is important to remember that the climber must collaborate by carrying part of the common equipment during the days indicated on the following tables.

Normal Route

Besides the personal equipment, every mountaineer will have to collaborate, without exception, transporting the material assigned by the guide of the expedition during the days the acclimatization treks are carried out, according to the following detail:

Very important

Our company does not guarantee the availability of those services which haven't been booked in advance. This service requires essential logistic labor, preparation, and availability of porters at all base camps on specific dates. Hiring is subject to availability at the moment of booking. The prices for early booking on the internet are always lower than the prices of these same services hired in our offices in Mendoza City. You will be able to book by sending us a mail at info@aconcaguaexpeditions.com.   In case different camps are used from the ones above mentioned, either for weather issues or other reasons, the number of stretches of portages booked by the passenger will be respected. The stretches are not interchangeable. If you book a series of specific sections, you will not be able to interchange those stretches for others different from those booked when you are in the mountain.

Bilingual personal assistance in case of illness

Your safety and health are our priority. Suppose you happen to be evacuated from Aconcagua for medical reasons, or you finish your expedition with any medical condition. In that case, our team will provide you with personal bilingual support for all medical activities you need to do when returning from Aconcagua. Like assisting you if you need additional medical attention, medical studies like lung x-rays, buying medicine, hospital admission, etc. The expenses arising from hospital admission, medical examinations, doctor's fees, ambulances, medications, etc., are not included. In addition, you will be able to use our optional service of full bilingual assistance for your time in Mendoza until you fully recover. The objective is for you to feel wholly accompanied and content until you fully recover your physical health and you can return to your country.

Extra Acclimatization Program (EAP)

The expedition may be hired with the EAP option (Extra Acclimatization Program), which consists in taking two or three additional days before the beginning of the expedition, in the Andes, outside Aconcagua Park, such as Puente del Inca or Cordón del Plata, carrying on guided treks around the area, reaching 13123/16404 ft, which ensures, even more, the acclimatization process to altitude (essential for the expedition) and thus better chances to achieve the summit. Besides, the EAP offers the possibility of spending a few days in the Andes in a 100% natural environment. You will find yourself practically alone with the mountains, unlike Aconcagua, a crowded park. If you are interested in EAP,  send us an email at info@aconcaguaexpeditions.com.

Extra nights and single room

While you are in Mendoza city, you will stay in your Hotel with breakfast included for one night (in the extended programs), in a double room, which you will share with another expedition member. This is the night of the first day of the itinerary. If you wish to stay alone in the room or hire extra hotel nights, you may arrange that with us at a more reasonable price than the one the Hotel provides. We recommend you book it in advance since there might not be available during the Aconcagua season.
Book now by sending an email to info@aconcaguaexpeditions.com.

Special Menu

Suppose the passenger has any preference about meals, Vegetarian Menu, Celiac Menu, Dairy-Free Menu, eggs free Menu, or further considerations. In that case, they may request a Special Menu by sending an email to info@aconcaguaexpeditions.com

Pitching of tents and single tent

Usually, there is good weather in Aconcagua during the season; however it is rough to be up there when it is stormy, that is why we work with the best brand of mountain tents. The climbers pitch the tents with the guide's assistance, one tent every two people. If you wish, our team is in charge of pitching your tent, or if you want to for a single tent, you can easily book them. It is not possible to sleep alone at altitude camps for safety reasons. You may book by sending us an email at info@aconcaguaexpeditions.com.

If you want to save money, you may also take a taxi or Uber from the airport on your own for a much lower price.

In case of no connection, we will refund the corresponding amount of the number of days the connection was unavailable. No other compensation will be valid.
